Winter Adventures

Hey guys!
I've been kind of nervous about doing my first post, more like really nervous. As my bio says, my name is Bailey and I am a freshman at Iowa State University where I am majoring in advertising. I ultimately want to get into web design and/or photography. 
Where to start..

I've been taking pictures for a while now. I received my Nikon D80 from my aunt Lisa and her friend Laurie I think my last birthday so I've only been shooting with it for about 7 months now. I'm starting to get the hang of it. I love going on, what my boyfriend and I call "picture drives" when we drive around the countryside and he stops whenever I say so I can snap a picture :). I really enjoy shooting scenery, but I guess that's just my starting point while I'm still learning how to use my camera. I would like to get into portraits in the future and anything else I can mess around with. 
Sunday drive.
Last Sunday we drove to Ledges State Park in central Iowa to get some winter shots since I hadn't had the chance to go out and shoot any yet. What a day.. I got into the car and as we started on our drive I realized my camera was almost dead.. it was too late to turn around, so I had to suck it up and hope it lasted for a while! It wasn't the best kind of weather, but sometimes you just have to go with it, especially if you're a busy college student. So i did. I have to say they aren't my best work, but there will be other snowy days, especially in Iowa :). Here's a taste of what I got.

[You'll notice that I absolutely love fences, I'm not sure why. I just love the look of barbed wire. This was one of those "Noah! STOP!" sort of pictures.]

[This picture doesn't do justice to how steep this hill was. I was honestly scared to even attempt to try to get up it. I can't imagine how the people who have to travel this road everyday do it in the winter time!]
